This past weekend was the lds conference held in Salt lake city. So me and Lisa decided to take our first road trip together. My buddy Forest was stuck without a ride, as he had plans to go up that weekend too, so he tagged along with us. The ride up was rather eventful; we ran into dust storms, snow storms, off the side of the road, and a major accident that held us up for about 1 hour. We came into Provo Friday evening and dropped Forest off just up the road from Lisa's sister Marianne's house, then headed over there for dinner. I was pretty excited to meet the fam. Derek and Emily Came over, Lisa's brother and sister, and I meet Josh, Marianne and their two boys Andrew and Ivan. We must have been really good Because we had meatloaf for dinner.

After dinner we cleaned up and played the coolest racing game and Ms. Pack man. After that it was on to Sandy where we would stay for the rest of the weekend, with Lisa's other sister Kari and her husband Chris and their three kids Caroline, Scott, and Amelia. Kari and Chris made me feel so welcome and the kids were such a blast to hang out with.
The next day was over cast and snowy Kari took us to
Trax so we could take the train down to Temple Square. We
went to get the tickets when a train pulled
up and took off again before we could get on,
we thought we had missed it. It turned out to be a good
thing, the train we needed to be on would be going the other way. Well we finally got down to
Salt lake to listen to the wise council of inspired men and woman,
but we ended up not making it in time to enter the conference
center so we watched the first session from the old center,
ate lunch at Crown Burger. Then got some tickets to the second
session were we watched conference way up close.
Our trip was really to experience conference
from Temple Square so we spent Sunday the same way, then
walked around taking pictures and running into old friends.
One thing I learned on the trip is that neither Lisa or I are picture
people we took most of the pictures on the train going back and
forth from Kari's and conference.
Sunday night Kari had her grand parents over, Chris had a
mission companion and his family over and Derek and Emily
stopped by we Had a great time. My favorite part was playing
soccer with Lisa and the girls, it was all of them vs. me. Sunday
evening ended our time with Kari and her family because we had
to wake up at 6:00 to be on the road again.

So we said all our goodbyes that night. However, this wasn't the end of our travel plans, on the way home we stopped off in St. George to see my Grandma and my Aunt Janet. We went to the Village Inn and ate lunch and had a good talk. I hadn't seen my Aunt since i was 10 years old I must say it was a great trip.
